About Communication

Communication involves a two-fold process: one aims to deliver a certain message, and the another participates in this active process by means of active engagement, namely, carefully listening and seeing. For a successful, effective communication, the speaker, or the active doer must first grasp who the intended audience is, for he must consider several factors before narrating a list of facts that may not bear any meaning to the listener or the passive doer. The most essential part of communication that one should bear in mind is to be able to deliver his idea, thoughts, reflections, passions, or specific interest in a way that would seem interesting or meaningful to the viewers. In light of this, for our podcast project, we will be showing a group of students with unique, distinctive characteristics, who are going to deliver their thoughts and feelings about Tokyo, generating little or no informative style, in consideration of the Japanese viewers who are already familiar with Tokyo. The role of communication will come into play through this project in the way that the Japanese viewers will not only be entertained by the idiosyncratic character of the foreigners, who will be conveying their emotions and thoughts about Tokyo, but also be able to take from this the various ways in which people outside of Japan react when they are placed in a Japanese setting.

  2. Good job addressing the fact that the audience is heterogeneous, and that its members have different experiences with/knowledge of Tokyo. 私もそうおもいます。いいですね。
